Re: Democracy
Well why bother playing it Ivan,we are British Subjects and as such we should respect the anthem.I thought there would be a reason, excuse, put forward to continue to put Corbyn down.It must be the worst anthem in the world it is no wonder they only sing one verse. We are singing to a person and not our country its the sort of thing you would sing to Kim Jong 11.How about this verse I don't think many on here would want to sing this in view of the refugee problem
Not in this land alone
But be Gods mercies known
From shore to shore
Lord let the nations see
That men should brothers be
And form one family
The wide world over.
The final verse mentions
Rebellious Scots to crush.
Most probably there will be an answer to this like it was written years ago.
Regards.

MP for Bristol East Kerry McCarthy See SWNS story SWVEGAN; Jeremy Corbyn has appointed a vegan to be in charge of Labour's dealings with Britain's farmers as he announced who will serve in his shadow cabinet. Kerry McCarthy, the new shadow secretary for environment, food and rural affairs, is one of just a handful of vegans among the 650 MPs in the House of Commons. The Bristol East MP backed Andy Burnham in the party's leadership race, but Mr Corbyn has had to reach out across the party as he set about appointing his frontbench team, with only 20 MPs having actually voted for him in his landslide victory on Saturday. Ms McCarthy was first elected to the Commons in 2005. She becomes one of 16 women in the shadow cabinet, which for the first time in history is made up of more women than men.

Labour's anti-austerity leader Jeremy Corbyn has accepted an 85 per cent pay increase – taking his salary to £125,000, it was confirmed this morning.
The hard-line socialist earned £67,060 a year as a backbench MP, but is entitled to a £58,000 increase as leader of the opposition.
Mr Corbyn, a keen cyclist who refused to conduct an interview in a car during the leadership election because it was environmentally unfriendly, has also accepted a state-funded official driver.

He had previously said that it was 'up for discussion' whether or not he would take the pay increase and official car.
The salary for opposition leader was cut by more than £6,000 at the request of Ed Miliband.
Mr Corbyn, an arch republican, is also set to visit Buckingham Palace within weeks to join the Queen's Privy Council. To do so he must kneel before the Queen and take an oath of loyalty.
The 66-year-old today sought to shore up his leadership by tearing up the rulebook at Prime Minister's Questions.

Re: Democracy
Corbyn`s choice of Shadow Chancellor is not a good one.
John McDonnell an IRA Sympathiser,
The DUP deputy leader, Mr Dodds, called on the House of Commons to denounce comments made by Mr McDonnell in 2003, when he said the "bravery and sacrifice" of the IRA should be honoured.
David Cameron responded by saying he believed Nigel Dodds had spoken “for the overwhelming majority of people in our country”.
North Belfast MP Mr Dodds said: “The opposition leader has appointed a shadow chancellor who believes terrorists should be honoured for their brutality.
“Will the Prime Minister join with all of us on all sides of this house in denouncing that sentiment and standing with us on behalf of the innocent victims and for the bravery of our armed forces who stood against the terrorists?”
There was a loud cheer before the Prime Minister answered.
Mr Cameron said: “I think from the reaction he heard the right honourable gentleman will see he has spoken for many, many in this house and I would say for many – the overwhelming majority of people in our country.
“I have a simple view, which is the
When asking his question, Nigel Dodds of Northern Ireland made reference to several MPs who were murdered during the Troubles.
He said: “The plaques at the entrance door to this chamber in memory of Airey Neave, Robert Bradford, Ian Gow, Sir Anthony Berry – serving members of this house murdered by terrorists as they stood up for democracy and the British way of life – are a reminder of the brutality of terrorism, as are the gravestones and headstones in Northern Ireland and right across this land.”
.
.
Can anyone, who was affected by the IRA honestly think that Corbyn is a good choice of Leader of the opposition.?
When he appoints this man to his shadow government.
Do all you Corby supporters really think it is a wise decision.?
I am only too happy that he is in the opposition and Not in the Government.
Brian

Don't think it's just her diet Jim, as a backbencher she has declared that all farming is cruel and inhumane and that eating meat is bad for all humans, so why on earth would you appoint someone with those views in charge of farming and agriculture, its akin to putting an ISIS member in charge of the UK's security. I also read the Mail, as well as other papers, does that make me an idiot or unable to think for myself, I think very few on this site could be brainwashed by any newspaper, we've all been around too long and our views naturally will differ, because of our personal experiences and ideals but I think in the main our own intelligence allows us to sort the wheat from the chaffe and the freedom of thought will always lead us down different paths because we all see ideals from different aspects.

Re: Democracy
it is amazing to me the last three labour leaders have been absolute clowns .....they have sold all we have worked for......brown who has gone like the wind after selling the gold ....bliar like king midas cannot stop chasing more gold .....and the third clown who has as much chance of becoming PM as osama bin laden .......the followers of the leftists in the country are finished ....but still there supporters rattle on and make as much noise as....the proverbial fart in a bottle ......while there union masters milk them further and deeper as they lose there powers of the subjugation of there fellow men....labour and unions ......adios .....cappy

Re: Democracy
James , please calm down dear,
I was merely showing what the paper reports.
I see there was no comments about Corbyns choice of Shadow Chancellor. an IRA supporter. even after four of their Parliamentary colleagues have been Murdered by the IRA,
I have certainly never supported the Tories or any other party, I have never ever banged the drum for them, so do not know where you got that from.
cheers
Brian
