The Tube Drivers Strike.

as we get older we have less time for things that we dont agree with .....i surely have had my moments on the site with my australian oppo from sydney ....truly what a waste of time ......some are things that grow from nothing.....we none of us have a lot of time left.....we are from an era long gone by todays standards ......terry john ....and old saying comes to mind ..........HANDS ACROSS THE SEA.......put your hands out ......to be truthfull we are all to long in the tooth for it to go on forever........cousin cappy

The problem here is Terry is from Liverpool,Liverpudlians are a very tolerant breed of people our philosophy is live and let live,so we like to live our lives without interference whilst at the same time not interfering with the lives of others.Having said that we would wonder why the likes of a retired man in Spain and people in OZ and throughout the UK would want to beat themselves up over the tube strike and the union involved,what harm are the tube train drivers doing to them.Take a leaf out of us scousers book Live & Let Live and you will have a much happier life without getting yourself excited over something that has nothing to do with you and is doing you no harm.No doubt Ivan will now scan my posts to see where I was not a tolerant person.

I echo some of the sentiments expressed by #160.( heavens! That's an awful lot of comments relating to an issue barely relevant to this site). However, the Moderator General has decreed that we should call a halt, end of the line, hit the buffers etc, and not be viewed by others as 'silly old men'. Myself, and perhaps a few others, are less concerned with how others regard us in our comments, but more interested in the social interaction amongst like minded members. Old-yes. Men-yes.Silly? Sometimes, all part of growing up.

Jim lad, one thing I never do is troll through past posts I've better things to do with my time. As for Liverpuddlians having a philosphy of Live and Let Live, not with the crowds I sailed with from that lovely city

fed up with the tube ......lets put it down the tube.......can anyone tell me the best way to get sash windows that have been painted over loose without smashing them to feck as i am getting really pissed off with this job.....cappy

Cappy sash windows are quite easy to take out(the whole frame) and do the job on the deck.There is a bead around the inside of the whole thing take that off and the window can be pulled out then just remove the cord from the sash.Once you have taken it out you will know how to put it back quite easy.I lived in a small house where we couldn't get the bedroom furniture up the stairs so we took out the bedroom windows (sash) and got it in that way.

PS funny enough cappy before I read your last post I was going to suggest sending a couple of scousers up there to tackle the job very tolerant guys, that would be no probs to them.
