Louis believe it or not but many use facebook I know a lot don't like it I didn't at first but having said that if managed properly even some of the lads here use it just to give the weather forecast and simple chat you don't get hooked on it and family photos Skype face to face talk and see for free?? as long as you don't fall for all the hundreds of nuggets that want to befriend you just keep it simple friends and family up to date news etc?.jp
hi shipmates, What time do I have to get board? it is in your mind.
Doc Vernon - Quote. 'I do a little bit of reading (however not much these days) as I find that the Eye strain of reading isn't doing any good !
At least on the Puter I can increase the Size of the text when I have to!'
Kindle books could be the answer as you can increase the print size. If you don't have a Kindle, you can download one onto your computer for free.
Hi Louis.
Get a camera and go looking for some nice places to photograph maybe birds etc, you can down load them on the computer and mix and match, even enter competitions.
Cheers Des
Another good way to stop getting bored if you are able to is to travel .
When my late wife and retired we decided we to do a lot of traveling as we were both reasonable fit and not to bad for finances .We did tours of different places and we did enjoy our selves they say that travel broaden the mind ( thats were us ex MN guys are so adapt ) it does cost a fair bit of money but we was lucky that we had looked ahead and with the help of our family we were able to do this . i have always said enjoy life while you have it and never be afraid to do these things
Agree fully with that concept Lou. we have decided to ceuise or trave, at least twice a year whilst physicaly and financialy fit. Do it while you can, no pockets in shrouds. I did ask my GP how long it takes for a body to fully decompse after falling off the perch. His reply, depends if the are burried or cremated.
