A large number of ships have Hamilton on the stern as port of registry. In Port Melbourne ast year I heard a lady telling a friend that there must be a very large port in NZ for so mnay ships to be registered there. I did not have the heart to tell her.

Remember on my first Cunard cargo ships the Valacia at the end of 1949 she used to fly the two house flags Cunard and the White Star line. Only did one trip signed off to be home for Christmas then back to Dock St for another "adventure". Later 1958 back to Cunard cargo ships and must have liked it cos stayed 15 years.
