stay safe all the gang out there?jp
Hi Doc,Quite a bit on Sky & BBC News tonight, they mentioned that arrangements are being made to evacuate the Blue Mountain area.
This is sickening, one of the residents returned to their home after the fire missed it, only to find that looters had ransacked their
property and stolen their possessions, they should have their hands cut off.
Fred.
Indeed Fred i saw that too,and how someone can do such a thing is beyond me!
There are so many like that though throughout the World!
Best way is to catch them and Cut their hands off.! As you say!
Cheers
Doc

I need to add to the rest of the site in saying keep safe.
I just wish i could send you some of our weather, forcast for tomorrow...... high of 3degrees with possible snow showers.( we had snow today)
we on tthe prairies of Canada and the people of British Columbia know how you must be feeling as we have durring the summer months thousands of acreas of bushland burnt due either to lightning, the idiot camper who don`t douse thir fires correctly or the smokers.
I just hope that you will all be OK.

this might be the time to think of a logging industry close to the big cities fires are happening every summer out there?jp
Outside my front gate right now there are a couple of dozen trucks coming and going. There is a a chance of a light shower or two tomorrow but on Wednesday conditions are expected to be very hot and very windy. There is much concern that the two fires, that from Lithgow and the nearby Mount Victoria fire will merge creating a front over the only two highways across the mountain range that would sweep down through the Grose Valley and both highways.
Tonight and tomorrow the Firies are frantically bulldozing, cutting and burning the firebreaks to protect Blackheath, Katoomba and Leura and other villages along the Great Western Highway. Meanwhile we are sorting out important things to go into the car along with the Noddy and Donny, our cockatiels, and Cleo the dog. We have faith in our Firies and see first hand their dedication and preparation and you have to "always look on the bright side". Anyway, I have just finished busting a gut doing up the kitchen and getting a bloke lay the vinyl - I did that about ten years ago and Margaret thought it a good idea to have a real vinyl layer do it this time!!
Thanks for all the thoughtful posts,
Richard
The danger to life and property is obviously of first concern, and i have great respect for the guys on the front line, there will also be a huge ammount of backup going on, feeding those guys as they work, they will have to be relieved at intervals, so alternating crews etc, water supplies to organise, usually via water carriers and building dams etc. take my hat off guys KT
