I have no proof, but tend to agree to a large extent. I know of loads and deal with many life savers and though multi faith and culture, deal with much in humour themselves after the aftermath to cope. Somehow, as my Amigo says there is or was something deeper. Until smoking was banned on NHS properties, our local A and E team would pop outside for a ciggie and amase me with the banter and humour. then return to care for and save more lives.

Yes, a hospital and most that dealt with extreme injury and death smoked and laughed in the face of adversity, to cope.

Fortunately, have kept away from A ans E of late, bad enough to be there and though they preach not to, must be tough to do what they do and be banned from a smoke, the bars are busy later and a release is with a joke still ?

Without some humour, they would not cope so well themselves.

All sympathy with all lives lost and the loved ones, but know to well how hard it is on those that cope with imjury, life and death.

Very True that Tony about the police on switchboard, but according to reports there were none on duty that day.

As to the media frenzy, sadly the people are much to blame for some of this. The media will never let the truth get in the way of a good story, but sadly there are many of the public who will soak up such nonsence put out by the media and believe it all to be true. So the vicious cycle continues, until such time as the public begin to understand how the media works this will continue. social media such as Facebook only intensify the situation.

I dont understand this one? my sister was a S.R.N many years ago and they are taught to deal with death and disease on a daily basics' !!!! My sister works for the N.H.S. She operates an M.R.I. Scanner she deals with bereavement's every day, And also sees people diagnosed with tumours daily. She also has another side to her she wept for that nurse who took her own life. They are angels without doubt but they like the rest of us have feelings and emotions. Human nature Regards Terry.:(

Hi shipmates, I still dont understand her reason to take her own life? now that its come out she was a good catholic and a very experiance nurse, I dont understand because she lost face? the Indians who were my doctors in The N.H.S. hospital for major heart op you could here him shouting at them in the next room, daily his team who were all Indians dare not argue or shout back one told me if they did it was end of the road for them in any hospital. He was a tin god to them !!! I am not saying they are all heartless in hospitals in the U.K/ but something is not right with this tragic event. a stupid crank phone call is not a life or death matter.

They commit suicide because the balance of the mind has been disturbed. maybe just a temporary thing but then it is too late.
My Grandmother tried three times, each time caught in time, then lived happily for another 36 years.
Maybe she was having a bad moment then it happened, If some one was there she would not have done it then would just live a normal life.

Dont forget she was living alone in her digs at the time, probably played on her mind and all she could see was shame and humiliation on her and her family. Poor woman, I feel really angry and sick about the whole sorry episode, all done so people thousands of miles away could have a good laugh at her.

some time ago i commented-(as most of us did) on the Hoax callers which resulted in a suicide. I notice today that the programme that was hosted by the callers (Hot 30) has been axed. However, the duo are now expected to host a new programme in the near future. They are now world renowned, perhaps for the wrong reasons. I will merely iterate the comment i made in the earlier post... no such thing as bad publicity.

They have indeed been taken off, but a statement from the radio station concerned claimed it was for other reasons as they along with other radios stations wanted to take a different direction with some of the programming.
