    Hello James
The people of Eire voted by 94% in 1998 to amend Articles 2& 3 of their Constitution. These Articles claimed that, The whole land formed , 'One national identity.'
The result was that these claims from 1936 ?? were abandoned by the Irish State.

The Ipsos opinion poll conducted for the Irish Times found that almost twice as many Northern Irish voters would vote against a united Ireland compared to those who would vote in favor. The majority of people in Northern Ireland would vote against a united Ireland if a border poll was held, according to a new opinion poll.
That would appear to be a lot of non Unionists happy to continue to remain in the UK, perhaps a reason that SF are in no rush to call a border poll.

The further south you go in Ireland the less interest there is in any form of reunion with the north.
Thye are quite happy being part of the EU even if at times they may complain.
My sister in law, now sadly gone, did so well from the land she owned thanks to the EU policy of tree planting.
There is still suspicion amongst the locals as to why some may want to reunite.

I spent some time working out of Fenit and you cant get much further south than that , just a small fishing port with a couple of hundred population with about a dozen pubs. If you wanted the big smoke Tralee asnt too far away and would get a lift of one of the locals, very friendly people all round i found. JS

Why would Ireland want anything to do with England now run by crooks and foreigner's. Read the other day that Boris was given a bank loan of around 1.5 million, he then gave his lender the job as the BBC Head, and who thinks that the present PM found it hard to pay a fine for not waring a seatbelt

    Des, the question was asked,

"Do all fairy tales begin with Once upon a time"?

No, some begin with, 'If I am elected"

#115 Des I assume you are including N Ireland into you post. Easy answer is the £14billion a year +that westminster pay into N Ireland to keep them going also N I receives 21% more per person on government spending than any other UK nation, that is one reason N I will certainly not vote for a United Ireland.
