Was in Glasgow quite a few times, on the Coaster British Scout, even saw her on a Billy Connolly show, sailing down the river. Don't know if it was when I was on her.

Re reference to up the Clyde on a Banana boat, I believe that’s whatmost Glaswegians called the boats which took sewage “cake” down the water (the Clyde). From Shield hall quay . I believe they used to take pensioners on board for the day trip as a public service. Don’t know if this is entirely accurate, but like to believe it is

#16 John, Yes they did take pensioners and also womens guilds, my mother went on it a few times there are some photos of her on the boat but I cannot find them at present. It was in the 60s and 70s.
