Hi Ray just seen. there’s a couple more on here ex Seaforth but you probably know already . Like yourself tried memorising them all but some with paper discharges which lost , think about 3 maybe 4 names of ships can’t remember , plus a few oil rigs here and there. Hope life with yourself going well. Regards John Sabourn.
PS was the Dunelmia an ore carrier ? JS,,

I believe there was a J&J Denholm ore carried called Dunelmia way before my time as I joined them in 1974.

#1 Ray weren’t you relieving John Ritchie as master when the position of the Hollande 1 was discovered . Believe you found it on the Fish Finder. I was permanent mate there and quite happy to remain as so out of sight until was dragged back into the North Sea. Jimmy Jackson was there as master when I joined originally as extra mate. He shortly after was relieved by John Ritchie , the only two other masters who were there for short periods for relieve reasons was yourself and John DeBarr . So think it may have been you. ? This was the Seaforth Clansman . The Hollande 1 ,am sure you must know finished up in the museum at Gosport . I am talking only about 1 of the teams as was f course 1 on and 1 off. Or as jokingly called the A and B team. Cheers JS
PS It was just off the Eddystone . .

    Hello John
Good days with many fine people! You may well know, John De Barr passed away, not too long ago.
Best wishes to all my old shipmates and friends.

No didn’t know Ray , thanks for letting us know. How are you keeping yourself fit and well We hope. As you probably know there are others on site also who are ex SML who also know you. Your name crops up now and again. The North Sea days seem like yesterday and is hard to believe left SML 37 years ago. Were you at John De Barrs funeral , hope he was well represented by the seagoing fraternity . Take care and thanks once again . John Sabourn .
