Merchant navy badge query
Good afternoon, please see the attached photos, in particular the triangular badge. They all came together but may not be related.
Can anyone identify the triangular badge for me please?
I presume it’s a collar badge. It appears to show a red mooring buoy
floating on a green sea.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks, Dave

Re: Merchant navy badge query
Hi Dave could be Coastguard, or the ones who look after the buoys and lighthouses.

Re: Merchant navy badge query
#2 Trinity House ? The epaulettes are they not the old Radio Officers ? The centre one could be much abused and worn out the same as their owner Apprentice collar gourgettes ? The epaulettes and badges on the other hand maybe the RMAS .( Royal Maritime Auxillary Service ). JS

Ok, that’s a thought. Yes, the cap badge is well worn! Perhaps someone else will come along and confirm.
Cheers Dave

Re: Merchant navy badge query
Definitely not Trinity House, I attended Trinity House Navigation School. The badge is an inverted sailing ship anchor with 3 stars overlaid with the words 'Spes Super Sydera' (Hope beyond the Stars)in a scroll underneath
