Sitting having a giggle at this thread to be honest. First off, rae, I actually went to college at Harlow with Alan, how is he doing these days. Funnily enough I was out a run in the car with the missus last Saturday and we headed up the side of Loch Lomond. Passing Garelochead I actually mentioned to the missus that I had gone to college with Alan. weird eh? I ended up on Iolair as 2nd cook as well unfortunately. Banger had gone by then, but I did sail with him when the Forties Kiwi originally came out in '76. Left the Iolair to take the Seillean out of Belfast. When was that? '92 sticks in my mind. Will post all my BP tankers up when I get home in September. No way could I remember them off the top of my head. Was also on the Shoush (as well as the Minab and another big one that I cannot for the life of me remember).

As an aside anybody remember Tommy McAteer? He is working with me at the minute as well.

    Default Enquiry

    Good Day all ,

I was just wondering if any one sailed with my granfather who was a chief officer/ captain for Bp during this time. His name was John Campbell and he was from South usit.
He was later in charge of Finnart.
It would be great to hear from anyone that sailed/ knew of him.
    Cheers
    Laurence
