Thank you for the explanation,
I thought that the sleeve rings for Royal Navy were a statutory 1/2" in width, as the Merchant Navy rings don’t seem that much thinner which makes it difficult to distinguish between the two especially as they also adopted the loop in place of the diamond between the two outer rings as attached

Hello Ray,
I was always led to believe that RN rings had two thicknesses and BP rings were equal to the thinner of the two.
Any Blue Ensign out there who can help?

I know we have been through all this,but i was just looking at the Buttons worn by BTC and see that they all have the Lion on them!
So i wonder why there is no reference to the Cap Badge with that Lion?
Still stumped !:confused:
