SHELL MEX 4 at Liverpool
Hi,
I have a photo of Shell Mex 4 in Herculaneum Dock Liverpool in the early 1950's, I have tried all the usual web searches without success.
Looking for some background dat, year built, other names etc, all the usual ship search data.

Have this Built 1921 Launched 3/9/21 at Yard Number 462 Built by Abdela and Mitchell Queensferry Ended 1960 Broken up at Preston ( T W Ward) 423 Tons Official Number 146194 Screws 1-C7 (Not sure what that means ?? ) Only ever had same name as far as i can see.

The above link will take you to the online version of Lloyd's Register of Ships where you find the entry for Shell Mex 4. She had a single screw shaft with a continuous liner (1 CL rather than 1 C7 as above) running in a water lubricated lignum vitae bearing. She has a single compound 2 cylinder steam engine of 58 register horse power, steam was provided by a single Scotch boiler with two furnaces working at 180 psi. Hope that helps.
