Well slow down a minute guys and girls,let me catch up with you..(I like my 8 hours sleep).

I certainly didn't take offence with anybody...well not on this site..I know how most of you are !

(Perhaps my reply could have been construed as 'pique'..but no way!)

Brian(Captain Kong), I realise your quizzes are very good and very welcome,but on behalf of the Quiz Forums contestants,I would kindly ask you to refrain(please) from ending a quiz prematurely by revealing the answer,thus ennabling yourself to snaffle your own prize of 4 Bells.
For example with my own replies,I was going on to say Arzew,then Marsa el Brega(,although I doubt whether it's still standing after the Libyan troubles),then Damietta,then Red Sea Ports ,before finally coming to your answer of Doha in Qatar.Do you know I'm sure that we used to spell that word for a bunged up nose as CATARRH?

And Cocoa is a definite No-no as a prize,most of us need all the help to stay awake,not get to sleep.

There some members here of a Temperance Society disposition and would ban the bottles of Liqour that is much appreciated by some winners of the quiz.
I being of a panicky nature I suddenly realised that I was almost down to my last bottle, so I made a tactical exit and kept the bottle myself.
The Cocoa was for members to sleep off any anxiety caused by losing.

I hope this is a good explanation.hic!hic!

Sorry to hijack your posting Jacyn but please may I clear something up? Our beloved Captain Kong has got it into his head that I am part of the temperance society. Far from it sir. Admitted i don't partake as often as I used to but none the less I enjoy the odd half bottle of gin now and again, plus vino plus I've even been known to sink the odd few pints of lager in the past. So no I am not part of that fraternity, I am just a tight fisted bugger who refuses to give prizes for the quizzes which are free to enter:) Now if everyone likes to pay a cyber tot to enter then maybe I might be persuaded to part with the odd half bottle of cyber scotch. No more than half a bottle though because as mentioned be3fore I don't want to be contributory to damaging your liver:eek:

I hope that this clears up this issue and once again apologies to Jacyn.

No apologies required, Tony. The entertainment value of the discussion is worth it! I, for one, enjoy a nip of gin or a glass of wine myself from time to time. I also appreciate a good cup of tea and the odd ice-cold Coca-Cola too.

If I may add my 2 cents, I think a complete ban of tintilating beverages is a tad extreme; however, I'm sure if the winners of quizzes make their preferences known, be it cocoa, ginger beer, scotch, whatever, they can be accommodated, can they not?
