History:  Ordered as Iron King, but the name was changed (at time of the bi-centenary) to Iron Endeavour, to honour the memory of Endeavour, the barque in which Captain Cook discovered Australia in 1770. The vessel was built for Nile Steamship Co. Ltd., (part of Furness Withy Group), of Newcastle (J. & J.
