Re: Wives please get in touch.
I went to sea with my late husband and loved it. We married in Melbourne Australia and I flew with him to NZ and joined the ship to go to UK. That was ok as I was British anyway and had family there. I never got seasick at all, loved the camaraderie, liking a drink I fitted in well. Did the going to sea for a few years and then he left the sea and we settled in Melbourne. Very nice time, loved it. Nice to look back on .

Re: Wives please get in touch.
Hi Lin
I remember Luanda and Lobito very well. You may have seen an initial post, when we discovered the site, from my husband Ron McSorley who was Radio Officer on the Falaba at that time. Hope you remember him too.
I think you were married to the 4th engineer, but neither Ronnie nor I can remember his name.
Glad that our newsletter has led to a writing career for you. Look forward to seeing more of your literature.
As you may remember I had a somewhat traumatic experience on leaving the Falaba to go home via Luanda, as it was full war mode then. But as my dad (long gone now) always said “no experience is ever wasted” and even that has stood us in good stead during our lives.
Really pleased you remember our time in Lobito with such happy memories and the story lives on.
Love to hear from you. Can you reply to me on here?
Pat McSorley

I did reply and left it on thread. I was the “Pat” in Lobito with you. My husband was ?Ron McSorley, Sparks or R/O. Wasn’t sure if I should leave my email address here, so didn't. Don’t have What’s App or Skype. Is it safe to leave email here?
Nice to know you still remember me from all those years ago. Look forward to hearing from you? We live in Spain now. Pat and Ron
