    Default Merchant Navy 1940-45

    Hello
I am trying to get any info I can for Ron Hussey-Yeo.
Ron was in the British navy from 1940-1945 and served in the Merchant navy.
He served on the RANGATIKI,BTITISH TENNACITY and MONARCH OF BERMUDA(not sure if they were spelled this way).
Ron would like to know if any of his mates are still around.
Ron just turned 90 and is is poor health.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello Larry

There is a Ronald Hussey-Yeo listed on the ships manifest aboard the “Monarch of Bermuda” which arrived in New York on the 9th October 1943, which had sailed from Gibralter, he signed on in Liverpool 26th February 1943 aged 22 he signed as a “Deck Hand” which usually meant that he was a DEMS gunner,
the ship sailed for the UK about the 21st October 1943

If he is Merchant Navy I assume it would come under Hussey-Yeo, hyphenated surnames can be difficult, as he is down as a Deck Hand I suspect he is DEMS gunner, possibly come under RN
