Looking for information
Hello,
I am new but I am currently trying to find out more information about my great uncle James Kehoe from Co. Wexford, Ireland.
He was a boatswain on the Dione 2 ss. He died on 05/02/1941 when the Dione 2 ss was attacked, he was 27. He is remembered at the tower hill memorial.
Unfortunately this is all the information i have of him and i am just trying to find more information if at all possible.
Thank you.

Re: Looking for information
By just a small record, see he was promoted to Bosun on 29/11/1940.
Died at Sae of Exposure after being attacked and Sunk by Gunfire
Looks like he was from Ballyhack Arthurstown Whitefold ????
Also has Campile Wrexford!
Cheers

Re: Looking for information
hi Nicola. He was my uncle. The family lived in Bally Kerogue and Campile, though I think Jimmy lived with his wife in Arthurstown when he went to sea. My dad is the last of his siblings and he has a copy of a letter to their parents from Liverpool where I think Jimmy passed his boatswain exam. His son lived with my parents in London in the early 60s.

Re: Looking for information
I sailed with a young lad from Wexford on his first trip in Feb 52. I don't know if he ever went to sea again as we hit a Hurricane going across the North Atlantic on the Basford. It was the worst trip I ever did in 17 years. He even had the experience of a mast coming down, and a deck cargo of logs shifting.
