Re: Hello from Canada; searching for family member
Hello everyone, It looks like I have several ancestors who were mariners out of Liverpool, at least one of whom was a master mariner. Once I wrap my head around all this — and figure out what specific questions to ask — I will be in touch again. To put this in context, I'm a retired journalist who's in the process of writing a book about my family history. My grandmother, who I've referenced here, was a child migrant from Liverpool to Canada, while my grandfather was a British Home Child shunted from workhouse to "sending home" in Manchester, and finally to a "receiving home" in Ontario, Canada. Thank you again!
