A big Hello to old shipmates.
This is Dave Francis,
I have lived in America since 1979, and I think it's time, I return to my family in England. I think I am known as an Ex-Patriot under British law.
Likewise, I never really wanted to live in Los Angeles, California, in the first place. However, my now Ex-spouse didn't want to live away from her parents and family, so reluctantly agreed.
Prior to my move, I had been on the British luxury cruise ships and my education was enhanced across the Atlantic pond. I am completely mindless of what to expect? I am hoping there is another Ex-Patriot who came back to England.
1. Furthermore, I can claim my US Social Security. 2. I can claim my British Pension. 3. I can claim my Merchant Navy Pension.
Obviously, I am not going to live in my sister's home with her husband, so can I get a flat in a small town in Cornwall, England? Too old now, in returning to the ships, unless there are exceptions.
It would be greatly appreciated, if any Merchant Navy chap or lady, has gone through this Ex-Patriot situation.
My respects to everybody, old or New Seafarer.
Dave Francis.
