Hi Ray. Our paths never crossed while with Shaw Savill but on the now defuncted Shaw Savill Ships web site, I noted your post from 01/26/2002 Looking for former shipmates you sailed with on The Corinthic - Waipawa _ Aramaric. Names like Dick Clare - Mutton Bird - Sparrow and that you would like to hear from them.
Never sailed with Dick, did relieving with him in the Royal Docks good company but have never heard of him since. I sail with Mutton Bird for a few trips on the Zealandic though never kept in touch. When I read your post it started me thinking I would like to get in touch with him again, it took a lot of searching and by good luck through the Bluff Tourist Agency managed to make contact again.
We started exchanging emails and finally went onto Skype, so once a week we have a natter about the old days and what we have been doing in the past week.
Well Ray I have you to thank for renewing an old friendship.
Bill.

Re: Returning member
I thought Cunard flagged out to Bermuda a couple of years ago, under the pretence that the skipper could conduct marriages, Brian kong has asked how many marriages had been carried out afterwards, the answer then was none, kt

#9. A ships Captain generally does not have the legal right to officiate a wedding at sea. In order to do so he must also be a judge, a justice of the Peace, a minister, or an officially recognised officiant such as a Notary Public.
If a ceremony goes off in International waters the ceremony abides by the laws of the country where the ship is registered . JS
