Roundabouts here where we live often have gardens in the middle.
Most Monday mornings some council workers, and i use that term advisidly, will be out removing the tyre marks, going straight across beats going around.

Last time in London, 2019, saw many police around the Westminster area all armed.

Cappy would be safe swimming here in Melbourne as the only sharks we have are Gummy ones.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

What about the Spiv ones , like those that sold you the 39 ties. ? Even though they be gummies he would still get Mary to put her wooden peg leg in the water first just to be on the safe side. JS.

Interesting about roundabouts with gardens John #33. I have a brother in UK who was in a west midlands police force often patrolling the M4. One day he received a call from HQ saying "Go and get your mother off the xyz roundabout and take a scissors with you to deal with her licence" (or words to that effect though probably not so politely) which he dutifully did as mother was somewhat aged and HQ must be obeyed. Damage to the car's bow made bro take it to a shady, no doubt very cheap, garage for repair. Car failed to be returned. I later became involved and found the garage guy had cannibalised the car - which was the final remedy. Mother never drove again.

Hi Brian, I came to Canada in 1964, in 1965 joined the Ontario Provincial Police and spent the next 30 years with them. A worth while profession.

Thanks for your post Dennis, Have been a little preoccupied lately with health concerns and various hospital visits. The big C treatments are now complete for this session and will be reviewed in the fall....Dr happy, so I'm happy.... This end of the country we are sweating with high temps and humidity, 32c right now, feels like 35c, so the air is on and watching the footy....supposed to get a break soon with lower temps, have to wait and see...Hope all is well on the island, any fires yet, we are all watching the devastation on the main land and hoping the cooler weather and rains will come soon....Take care and stay safe......

Have been watching the News on the very Hot Weather there Stan, i see a record was Broken as well cant recall now exactly where there but it reached 42 Wow!
Mind you when living down in Penrith for 18 Years we used to get 32 and above quite often, the Road used to actually melt and if you walked on it you could feel the Slush slush under you feet! Terrible! Humidity too was high making it even worse! Then to top it all the Bushfires ! and Winds! Oh Boy what a Joy!! LOL

    Hi Stan.
Come down here for a week, it's been minus 6or7 every day this week, had frost that deep haven't seen the likes since I was fourteen and going to the Tin works at 7am the mornings.
Good luck with the health, had my prostate cancer for twenty years, implants keeping it at bay, last Drs visit he said the blood count had gone down for the first time.
    Cheers Des

In the town where we live there are over 100 of them.
Still the majority do not know how to use them, quite simple really, first to the broken white line has right of way.
Go tell it to the marines for many, they reach the line and prop not sure what comes next.
The of course just to add to the confusion often there will be a school crossing less than 40 meters from it.
Those ladies with the 'stop' sign just shove it out in your face even if there are no cars behind you.
Most of them look like imports from some Sumo wrestlers school.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Must be very hard at night John , especially as they don’t show sidelights. Would be very easy to mistake the stern red lights as their port sidelights, maybe this has some bearing on the accidents occurring so frequently. As to the silent cop has anyone checked to make sure he isn’t a dead one ? JS
