If writing about a British ship you will have to adjust the terms as shown in your PDF
STRIKER is a long bamboo pole about 10 feet long to which you attach a paint roller for painting the ships side, or a attach a brush to help clean holds
SPAR CEILING has nothing to do with a derrick, it is horizontal wooden battens size normally 2" x 8" x 16 feet running the length of the ship's holds from tank top level to underdeck spaced about 3 feet apart vertically, this stops baled cargo touching the steel hull which will sweat when passing through various temperature seas, the sweat will damage and discolour the cargo, think of cottons, wools, papers, etc
DOGS LEG is a long handled flat paint brush with the head set at 45 degrees for getting behind pipes
THE HOOK, is the Anchor, (a boat hook is called a boat hook) such as swinging round the hook when at anchor.

White lead and tallowing the span wire between two samson posts, and painting the lower mast from a Bosuns chair
