Re: Hi
Just a thought Shirley, you said he was mostly in the coastal trade, but looking at the names of ships some were world wide traders, perhaps some confusion maybe about the coastal aspect because the documents you have in hand probably show, just as an example
Port of engagement Hull 19th April 1920
Port of discharge Liverpool 15th August 1920
In between those dates she may have been to USA, Canada, South America (or anywhere else in the world) and only the Voyage Cards should show this information.

Hi Ivan, this is a mistake on my part. I presumed this after seeing the words United Kingdom Ports typed underneath the names of the ships on the National Archive site. Thank you for clarifying this. I did think it was a bit odd that he may have just moved around the U.K. coast.

Re: Hi
If there is a possibility that there may be CRS10 Records for him Shirley then they would be in the following Series at the Archives. These you would have to go inj person and search through, but its a long shot.
Cheers

Re: Hi
Hi Shirley - Bit before my time at sea and I was a Chef - so if it was a large liner he served on we would rarely even meet up with crew members from other departments.
But Good Luck in your research, if information can be found hopefully one of the friendly "Old Sea Dogs" on this site may Help! Best Wishes - Colin.
