Re: Hi
If you can get a copy of either his Discharge Book, or Seaman's ID card, they will have his photo. Like a passport.

Re: Hi
Hi Shirley,
Good luck with your search! As to photographs, I was lucky to find pictures of my great uncle by expanding my family tree on Ancestry, another member's tree crossed with mine.
Doc Vernon - did the style of CRS change? Dad's looks nothing like the one you the uploaded.

Re: Hi
Hi Vernon.
One of the ships Shirley mentions is the Harmattan, isn't that the ship Terry was on about in that story he sent you? Shirley's grandfather may have been on it the same time , does the story have a crew list?

Re: Hi
Hi Shirley with your g grandad being on the Warkworth he will almost certainly have been to Canada. This ship regularly won the race to be the first ship to get through the ice, after the winter. I am not sure but think it may have been the St Lawrence seaway. The Master received a momento. It may have been a cane with a animals head carved on it. Where i got this information from i have no idea but think it must have been the Shields Gazette. At 82 the memories going. Good luck in finding your photograph. Peter

Re: Hi
I think it may have been first into Churchill on Hudson Bay, I vaguely recall articles in the Chronicle when they were first in.
