    Hi
My Father was born in London April 1931 and joined the British Tanker company as a cadet in 1947 completing his 2nd Mate Certificate in 1951. Dad then joined Union Castle and finished up as 2nd Officer on the Kenya Castle in 1958. Around this time he met my mother and settled down to married life in South Africa. Dad loved his time at sea and in retirement moved down to Cape Town.

    Thank you for that.
Pity that we did not know of this a long time ago, as my Late Uncle would have known your Dad for sure,as he was on the Kenya Castle at that time as well, and did a few trips on her Round Africa.
I am not 100% sure on this ,but i seem to recall the name , as once he came ashore in Cape Town with my Uncle "Dusty" and we met up at his House (My Uncles that is)
Had a really good party that entire day and part of the night, having to go back to the Ship late that night, i was then on the Warwick Castle also Round Africa Run ,but was going in the opposite Direction, so both Ships were in Port at the same time.

Cape Town is my Home , but i immigrated to Aussie in 1980, been here ever since!
But Oh such wonderful memories of Cape Town especially, plus of course all the other ports we called at on those wonderful Castle Intermediate Ships Round Africa. Some crazt days i can tell you.
    Cheers
