“Did we dobie our own bed linen curtains etc.? Regards Roger.”
Can’t say I ever remember dobying our bed linen, however, if on the W Africa coast, in particular, Bonny, Nigeria, it could be exchanged for local entertainment. I remember the working alleyway being a hive of industry. Hence the expression “Linen Check”.
In terms of curtains, I can’t remember having a cabin graced with such luxuries.
