Always nice to get some nice feedback from someone like yourself Rob, A lot of the guys aboard this site sailed with Hain Norse, I was in the Trevaylor, Much later on than your grandfathers era, But they where ships for seaman you had to know your stuff to tramp around the Mexican gulf for 4 months aboard any Treboat Best of luck in your quest, Terry. :th_thth5952deef:
Rob i also sailed on a tre boat, the old Treworlas, which was salvaged after being torpedoed, and i had a very interesting visit to the Hains section of the museum in St Ives, i presume that you living in Cornwall will have already visited the museum. A really interesting visit with lots of info, regards kt

Hi Keith, I actually haven't visited the museum in St Ives. Anywhere touristy tends to get avoided when you live down 'ere year round. However, I didn't realise they had a specific section on Hains so I will add it to the list of places to visit in my research. Thanks for the heads up and the info regarding your own service. Its fascinating finding out all this information from people who followed a similar career to my Great Grandfather.
