Ex R.O. 1956 to1960
I have just enrolled on the forum. I was an R.O. from 1956 to 1960, initially with Marconi and later with Union Castle. Ships included Clan Chattan, San Wilfrido (Eagle Oil Co.), Tremorvah (Hains) Pretoria Castle, Rustenburg Castle, Roslin Castle and Richmond Castle. Looking forward to possibility of finding some common ground with other members.

Re: Ex R.O. 1956 to1960
Welcome, Trevor. My sea time was similar: 1956- 1961; Marconi then Brocklebanks. I took tickets at South Shields. After the sea I went into ITV studios and prospered when all was so new. Enjoy your sojourn here - it's a place of nostalgia spiced with a dash of sanity.

I was an Apprentice in Tremorvah in 1960. Two trips in November and December to Dalhousie New Brunswick to load newsprint for Manchester
