Hello again
Just to say Hello again. It has been a few years since I last visited this site, changes in life and circumstances tend to get in the way.
However, whilst going through some mementos recently I suddenly realised that it is 70 years this year since I first went to sea.
My first ship was a trawler Cape Cormorant in January 1949,after having spent 3 years at Hull Trinity House.
My next was the Moorcot,a tramp belonging to Mc,Gowan Gross. We left Hull in the June 1949 and paid off in Dover 20th December 1950,having covered a lot of world.
I stayed at sea for nearly 10 years before joining the RAF, but never will I forget the those very happy years
