Well Bill, could it have anything to do with the food maybe.
If like the Vindi you would have been very lucky to get any nuts, the only ones we had were the human kind. LOL

The term "Peanut" seems to have been lost with the passage of time. The one that seemed to make the most sense to me, which I heard was that. Once upon a time there was a peanut vendor who used to walk along the road to the sea school selling his wares and shouting "Peanuts" as he walked along and this is how it came about. Other refer it to Sweeney Todd the barber who used to cut all the hair in the early days, with people walking out with there heads looking like a peanut.

don't know if you are aware but there is a "Peanut" gathering at the number1 pub in cleethorpes on the 11th may,it's the second year it's happened and last year was a great success,I'm a Vindi boy myself but I went and made to feel very welcome,it's organised by a guy called Eric Mager he's on Facebook

Just a question about the photo..is there anyone on here who recognizes themselves ?
although I did 10 years..7 on Port Boats and 3 on Beaver Boats not once did I meet up
with anybody I was at the school with in that photo...
