Re: RFA Black Ranger - Kenneth H Churchouse
Pleased you have had success in your endeavours. If and I think it probable that the MMSA stands for Mercantile Marine Service Association , I wonder why they didn’t put MN. That is / was the usual practice. Unless the plaque was put up by them . I can see people putting up letters like MIN or MNI. But have never seen MMSA. Before. Nothing wrong with it but most wont recognise. JS. MIN member of the Institute of Navigation. MNI member of the nautical institute. JS

Re: RFA Black Ranger - Kenneth H Churchouse
Hi All,
I spent a very short time on the Black Ranger, joined her in Milford Haven in August 58, paid off October in Weymouth 58.Captain was B.J.Datine ???. I think the officers were RNR, so it should be possible to chase up her Captain via that route. I've never been so sea sick than on her, three days non stop,if I gone over the side it would have been a blessing!!! Good luck.

Re: RFA Black Ranger - Kenneth H Churchouse
Hi Barry
Thank you for that ,however i think that as Capt Churchouse had a Merchant Navy Discharge Number that should indicate that he was not RNR ?? however I may be wrong on this and stand corrected.
He could also well have been RNR for a while ??
I am still looking into all this ,but thus far have not come up with anything new!
Thanks again appreciated
