Has anyone on this forum got a photo of Common Brothers MV Leeds
Hi Geoff. Welcome to the site hope you enjoy whats on here. Hang in there someone may be able to help with the pic of the MV Leeds. If you were at sea please post the names of your ships someone on here may have sailed with you. Cheers Des
Looking at your age Geoff you can’t have been at sea much before 1978. However see you come from Cannie Shields, where there were quite a few seafarers that I knew hailed from. My cousin was still alive up until the early 80 s and he had been a long time with Palm line and lived at the top of Howard Street, the other end to Stag Line. He was working for Salvessens when he was drowned however. I would imagine the people I knew in the likes of Common Bros would have been and gone before your time, but a good friend of mine was a Gerry Screen from Long Benton who died a long time ago now and the last time I saw him was when he was on one of their ore carriers and I was on the Pennyworth one of Dalglieshes in 1963. There are even people out here In Perth WA from North Shields but they are even older than me. Seem to get everywhere. Sorry can’t help with your picture but every chance someone will have.
