    Hello all,
I've joined to hopefully gain some knowledge of the MN during the Second World War. I intend to wear the uniform as a reenactor at some of the 1940s events I attend as the MN are hardly ever represented at such shows.

Good on you Jim, I have attended my local cenotaph for years on 3rd of Sept and 11/11/11/ Only ever saw one man dressed in Merchant Navy uniform, We made as much of the ultimate sacrifice as any of the armed forces not taking anything away from them. But if you check the stats on an Horacio of men per service the M.N. Lost more souls than any other service, Well done sir you have my greatest respect Terry

    Hello Julia,

Sorry for not replying sooner, I haven't been on here for a while. Thomas Cosgrove was actually my father's cousin and is remembered by a cousin of mine who is now over 90.
