Default Manchester Liners and Cunard 1954-1960

Hi I started my stint in the MN as an engineer in 1954 in the Manchester Merchant, in 1956 I joined Cunard and sailed in the Saxonia until 1958, did one trip in Queen Elizabeth then aboard Arabia till I left the sea in 1960. My name is Ron McVey and would like to hear from anyone who may have known me!!

Hi Ron, I sailed on the Cunard "Arabia" 3rd -28th September 1953, Liverpool to Montreal. I remember it as a nice clean ship with a happy crew. While at sea, I would spend time in the engine rooms. After studying Automotive Mechanics, I had a serious interest in engine technology. I found the engineers generous in answering my questions and they were dam good company! Your name sounds familiar, but it's such a long time to remember faces... I wonder what year you sailed on the Arabia?
    My best to you,
    Pete Lindstrom

I was on the MANCHESTER MERCHANT in 1961, a good job and good run from Halifax all the way down the Canadian and US coast to Florida and back.
