    Arrow Stanley James William Cain

    Hi,

Ken Cain here, my late father Stanley J W Cain was with the Union Castle line in the1950's until (I think the 1970's as an Engineer. I believe he sailed on many of the "Castle" ships including Pendennis, Edinburgh and also the Reina Del Mar. There may have been others, does anyone have any information that could help in reearching the ships etc that he sailed on and his life on board?

    Thanks Ken Cain

Didn’t have any relations in Oz called Chris did you. That’s the name of the General secretary of the seaman’s union of W.A. JWS.

Hi Ken, quite a few of us served with Union Castle, keep looking in, sure someone willl come up with something. I was on the Stirling Castle in the late 50s early 60s. I have recently posted a Union Castle promotional video on the site, but that was the Transvaal Castle. Anyway wellcome to the site , keith tindell

I have just looked on the b&c staff registers and if you look at Decemberr 1965 you will find S Cain as a junior 2nd engineer on the Edinburgh Castle .
