    I heard many years ago that the Beauty Point Hotel Burned down, It was made of wood when we were there and painted it in 1955, and then it was re built, Does anyone know ???

    Re: #12. Scanned a few old photos. I was the youngest on the Lowlander but who knows there may be some old shipmates in them. I am still in touch with Colin Duke of the Port St John and later Dominion Monarch and Gothic. I was not on the DM.

    Sorry shipmate but they are ford cortinas in the photos at what was called the Rivera Hotel(its close to the old Beauty Point Hotel).Cortinas once apon a time were available in Oz..if you google hd holdens you will see a much larger& different vehicle which came out in 1965 from General Motors Holden.the Commodore is again a different vehicle still produced by GMH in Oz.     Are ye sure Michael, no blue ovals on any radiator and looks like Holden (H) badges on the radiator, looks larger than the UK Cortina/Consul, not saying they are not Cortinas but see no blue ovals, but I bow to your local knowledge
