Ahoy there !
Hello all,
I joined this site some time ago but with work, family, and some health issues, I did not get around to posting an introduction.
So here it is.....
I was born in England, but served in the Australian Merchant Navy as an A.B. commencing in 1987, after being on Pilot Cutters with the Dept Marine & Harbours and was a Trawlerman for several years prior to that.
My Great Grandfather Served in both world wars (British Merchant Navy), having been made Auxiliary Naval Personnel in the second.
He was killed in action while serving on H.M.S. Rawalpindi while engaging the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau in the North Atlantic.
Anyway, good to be here and I hope to get on the forums from time to time.
Regards,
Kim Bicknell
