    Default Good morning everyone

Just joined. Spent 13 years at sea as an engineer before taking voluntary redundancy. Ten years with Harrison Line (Liverpool) then some time with Buries Markes and Regal Shipping. Left the sea in 1985.
    Regards,
    Kevin

Thanks Doc, but the tinny is out - hate drinking out of cans as I reckon I can always taste the can. Now if we're talking stubbies....

    Hi John,
There's 46 ships listed in my discharge book - would take an age to put up here. Better off just saying Harrison Line as nearly all my time was spent with them. We have a reunion the last Friday of November each year, in Liverpool, so I'm still in touch with many I sailed with. I notice Gordon Ellis posted about that on another thread - sailed with him on a few box boats and saw him at a funeral two weeks ago. Unfortunately, many of us are now at an age where we do most catching up with old shipmates at other shipmates funerals - been to three already this year.
    Regards,
    Kevin

    Hi Nev,
The Forester was a bit before my time, and I'd like to think I'd be more considerate!
    Cheers,
    Kevin

Thanks for the heads-up Brian - as you can see I've now arrived. Seeing Brian Daley in Liverpool on Saturday and hope to see you in Bolton in May.
    Cheers,
    Kevin

    Post Re: Good morning everyone

    Hey Kevin!

Welcome aboard! It's fantastic to have someone with your incredible sea experience join us. Your 13 years as an engineer, especially with Harrison Line and your time at Buries Markes and Regal Shipping, bring a wealth of maritime knowledge to the community.

Taking voluntary redundancy after such an extensive career at sea in 1985 must have marked a significant transition. What inspired the shift, and how has life been ashore since then? Your journey is undoubtedly filled with fascinating stories, and we'd love to hear more about your experiences.

Feel free to share any sea tales or insights you've gathered throughout your remarkable career. Again, welcome to the forum, Kevin! We're excited to learn from your maritime adventures.Good morning, and feel free to dive into the discussions!
