    Shipmates !

Went and saw, Vernon, yesterday afternoon. He told me he was feeling tired and anxious for things to happen, keen to have the operation and get on with living. When I spoke to him again this morning he sounded a bit more positive. His doctors were at his bedside and were hopeful of transferring him to Westmead Hospital later today or tomorrow, which would enable them to conduct the operation before the weekend. Let's hope so. Unless there is further delay, I don't expect to be in contact with Vernon until after the operation, but will try and keep you informed as best I can.

Roger, I echo John's post - thank you again for keeping us up to date with Vernon. He must be pretty worried poor guy but I am sure things will go alright for him and he will come out the other side a lot happier and healthier. Good Luck Vernon.

About 8.30pm., this evening (12/6/19, Oz Time) I received a phone call from Vernon's dear wife, Irene. She asked if I would post the following for your information. Vernon was transferred to Westmead Hospital today pending his operation scheduled for 11.00am. tomorrow morning (13.6.19). His surgeon advises that the procedure may take a little longer than usual, but is confidant. Vernon is resting comfortably, albeit a little apprehensive...who wouldn't be? Irene said that today she received the card sent by, Happy Daze John, on behalf of all members and expressed her sincere gratitude to you all. She also told me that tomorrow evening, following the operation, she will give me an update which, of course, I will pass on to you.
