Vale Den McGuckin
It is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know the passing of our friend and shipmate Dennis McGuigan. Den was a very good friend and we had been corresponding, he was like family so it hit hard. He asked me to post this poem in his memory.
I don't need a Harp or a halo not me
Just give me a breeze and a stiff rolling sea
Ans I'll play me old squeeze box as we roll along
When the wind in the rigging will sing me a song
When you get to the dock and the long trip is through
There's pubs and there's Clubs and there's lassies there to
The girls are all pretty and the beer is free
Ad there's bottles of Rum growing on trees.
Farewell Den
You will be missed

Yes This Morning i received an Email from his Daughter Sara informing me oif the very sad News!
Like Des , Dennis was a good Friend of mine as well, and been for many Years back, i recall meeting him online here in 2008 when we still had the old site up and running!
He will be sadly missed here , as like a few of the past and some present, he was one of a Kind, always polite in his postings and accepted things as they were! A Gentleman to the Core!
Will each and every one of you please stand, and raise a Glass to one fine Gentleman!
To you Dennis! Now go and Rest in Peace my dear Friend!
Sincere Condolences to his Daughter Sara, may she be strong .

Re: Vale Den McGuckin
His daughter Sarah was very strong for him at the end, she must have had the strength of ten men.
God Bless her
