So sorry to read of Den's passing, his posts and humor will be really missed.... Calm sea's and fair winds...R.I.P.....
Safe anchorage Den and my condolences to your family, Rodney
Den , where ever you are now mate I salute your memory.
But if you get offered a job up there in the galley be very careful, no more Rum essence, use the real stuff.
You were one of the best.
So sad to hear of Dens passing during my being absent from site RIP Denis
As it is coming up to nearly The anniversary of Denis’s passing and as I have just written to the wife of a recent friends death on Anzac morning , and thinking of something to say to her , I remembered The Pilots Psalm whichI was unable to do when Denis died, so belated as it is and for those who don’t know it here it is, was quite fitting for burials at sea also....The Lord is my Pilot, I shall not drift, He lightest me across the dark waters, he steereth me in deep channels. He keepeth my Log ;
He guideth me by the star of Holiness for His names sake, Yea, though I sail mid the tempests and thunders of life,
I will dread no danger ; for Thou art near me ; Thy love and Thy care they shelter me. Thou preparest a harbour
Before me in the homeland of eternity ; Thou anointest the waves with oil , my ship rideth calmly . Surely sunlight
and starlight shall favour me on the voyage I take; And I will rest in the port of my God for ever.
The 23rd Psalm as Paraphrased In 1874 by Captain John H. Roberts.
Sleep well Denis.

Shared informative and funny emails and family photographs over the years. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather and gt,grandfather. A lovely man and a true friend... like many on here. Gone but never forgotten.
Rest in Peace Den
Den was and still is a great friend.
Des.
We will never forget.
Great banter with Den and many e-mails as well.
Sent him a poem I had written at the passing of a special friend.
So overcome by it told me he would put a copy in with his late wife's things.
Den was one of the very best, pity about his Rum essence tab nabs.
