Re: union castle steamship company building
1 and 2 appear to be the same, but #3 has completely different window and roof set-up, but then it may have had a redesign and refurbishment in intervening years and had a floor added

Re: union castle steamship company building
Vernon, they did move the docking from out of town to a dock closer to the city in about 1963.
Could it be that the UCL building is there and the other two elsewhere?

Re: union castle steamship company building
John the UCL Building in Durban was always in West Street,(If Memory serves me correct) been there for Years , and as far as i am aware did not move Premises! As you know West Street is in the Middle of the City!
There was however the Clan Line Building in Victoria Embankment which was late demolished and John Ross House was Built there!
Rise and fall of the Clan Line steamers (iol.co.za)
The Colonial Mutual Life Building Durban Later to be the Union Building not associated with UCL.

Re: union castle steamship company building
Places I remember most in Durban was the Indian market, the Playhouse and the Criterion pub by the old dock gate.
The rest was often a blur.
