Well Vernon Logger Lloyd did not get that name for just being a nice guy, he got it because he had the envious record of having logged more crew than any other Castle ship's captain. He had a brother, swivel eye Lloyd. He lost one in the war, but could see more out of the one lefdt than most could with two. Captains inspection and he would go through a dozen white gloves checking for dust etc. Great times though.

Hello again, Well it seems my search at the Archives has come to an end with no information available to locate my partners Father. I have come to the conclusion that John must have worked past 1972 which would mean his pouch would not be there. I found a 1962 crew list at the Archives for the Stirling Castle which was very interesting to read but gave me no information I was seeking. I have one option left and that is to visit the Maritime Museum in Greenwich which does hold the 1965 crew list, but and a big BUT...The list has been moved due to the Museum having a refit. The list wont be available now until June 2009. I will have to bite my nails for 2 months or more. If he was honest from the start, then he should be in the 1965 crew list. I want to thankyou all that have helped me and a special thankyou to Castleman who has followed my threads with help and interest. I know in my heart I will find him on the list and then hopefully find him in person.
