    Thumbs up Mort

Fruit boats MMMMm, lot of that about in those days.Did any of you go to that posh hotel in Beira for a swim? I cannot remember the name of it but very popular if you had the time off. It's a wonder they let us in; but in those days (late 50's) "white man could do no wrong".

If the same hotel Vernon, we had to take a bus to it. Great place for a swim and a cold beer. Also a nice beach near by.
    Used it often.

    Default Hotel!

    Hi Den
Could it have been the Grande Hotel Beira, this was a popular one and was operating from 1952 to 1963! Was actually Built for the Rich, but never came to that and was used by the Middle Class and of course us old Seaman haha!

    Cheers

I was always of the understanding the reason we were aksed to leave was that we had so much money to spend it made the other patrons look very poor and spoiled the image of the establishment.
