    Default Unxmassy i must say!

I remember as a child back in the 50's we used to cut up the News of the World into little squares and hang 'em in our outside toilet. It used to get that cold in winter ,if I went for a pee I had to snap it off. Well one time I cut up the paper, went out and did what I had to. Unbeknown to me dad hadn't read it. So he dropped my kecks, and bent me over the armchair so he could read the story of my bare bum. Those that lived through them times know all about the newsprint.

Was it “ Forever Amber” he was trying to read , I used to read it when I was about 12 and it was considered very risqué in those days.Nothing to what one sees today in print..The other name for the paper in question was the “ Screws of the World”. Cheers JS..

And Lady Chatterley - you must be about my age J.S. Another book from that era, 'No Mean City'. It was about the razor gangs in the Gorbals. After reading it I made my mind up to avoid Scotland. Until last year, we were on holiday in Berwick-on-Tweed and my brother said he wanted to take a look at Edinburgh and did I fancy going with them . It was a nice day so I agreed. Glad I did, what a lovely city, I enjoyed every minute (with the notable exception of the traffic wardens all who seemed to have had a personality by-pass). They all had that military bearing with caps pulled low down so you had a job to see their eyes. When they deigned to look at you - they scowled and growled. Apart from that I will return. One thing I did find strange - being served in a restaurant by an Asian with the strongest Scottish accent imaginable.

Early Xmas in the Biden household, young Biden has been pardoned by Daddy, after saying he wouldn't , they showed him lying five times on TV here, very embarrassing but there again he is in the good books with his Archbishop.

In another post my particular memorys apart from much latter ones, was about 1944 where I spent a couple of weeks at my mothers Aunt in Shettleston, in a tenament where the bed was a hole in the wall. On playing on the steps of this high rise building my memories were of other urchins attempting to hit me over the head with their wooden swords, shouting yaw dirty red coat, needless to say I had no red coat. In later years on ships I was a frequent visitor of the 101 club at the top end of the main drag was a supposedly night club. Staying in the likes of Dingwall now was a totally different genteel experience. Cheers JS

Did anyone honestly think that Hunter Biden would do jail time. Daddy Biden was always going to pardon him. Appears it is one law for one and another law for everyone else. No dobt one of the first things at the top of Trumps list is to pardon himself. I would imagine he will likely to have everyone on the jury that said he was guilty on , was it 37 charges ? he will have them hounded for committing purgery. What a sick society America has become.

#15 The only thing wrong the younger Biden did wrong Des , was in being caught. You show me a completely honest man, particularly in the political world and he or she will be an extreme rarity. JS

Apparently Biden is a trifle deaf and does not always hear the question correctly often asking for a repeat.

The other day he was asked what will you do with your son
    'Pardon'???
    Happy daze John in Oz.
