It is considered a well known fact that when the husband goes with the wife to do the shopping all he is there for is to push the trolley.

If it wasn’t for the trolley John I would be sitting the shopping out. It keeps me upright and starts with the only thing in it is my walking stick, the wife refuses to push it with me sitting in the baby seat. The shopping mall over here does offer the use of free gophers if you register as damaged goods, and as Pride comes before a fall I am seriously thinking of taking up the offer. If could get to the mall with my own gopher would do so but lack of footpaths and traffic leave me doubtful of getting there and back, can make the local shops ok but the 3 mile jaunt looks like the wall of death to me. Oh yes once the world was out oyster and we made the most of it. Now it seems that next suburb is about our limit. Got to ask you Rodney? Have you found that the weekly expenses have dropped significantly now one is on our tod. Also the old taste buds seem to have abated meaning I only need basic food items now.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

No Des, the only black pan he gets is when he burns the egg and the toast.!!

    Les.

I know my wife had coupons in a wallet that was about an inch thick, and I remember once at the check-out the clerk said, "You can't use coupons on for sale items that's double dipping." my wife said read the small print at the bottom of the coupon." the clerk rang a bell, and the supervisor came over and the clerk pointed to the small print on the supermarket's coupon. "Dood anytime." Sorry mam, the supervisor said. and the coupon was accepted.

I've tried the coupon bit, but I never have a coupon that's in-date or for anything I want or need.

Second point Les. My monthly shopping comes to more money for me alone than what my wife spent for both of us and I go to the same store she went to too.

I happen to have a sweet tooth for cookies and candies, but i always had them when she did the shopping.

I notice in the supermarket many young women with their daughters shopping and the little girl helping mummy. being trained in shopping almost from the cradle, and they both seem to enjoy it, it's very rare to see a little boy shopping with mummy. He's probably with daddy banging in nails somewhere.

    Cheers, Rodney
