If the facts are correct China came to Oz to trade way back in about 1400 or so.
But when they found who was there, no trade, they left.

Ukraine president is in talks with China president in hope of finding a peace deal with Russia.

As to age, not so much of a problem if the person is capable.
Look back in time at some of the not so sharp leaders, the peanut man was one as was tricky dicky.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

John that peanut man you describe as not so sharp.
Jimmy Carter came from humble beginnings in rural Georgia, but he was no less smart, with an IQ of 156.8. He engaged in important diplomatic work in his time as president, and continued humanitarian work after his years in the White House, becoming a professor at Emory, receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

Bill Clinton very clever man but he could just not get his John Thomas to behave.
IQ was estimated to be 159. Born in Arkansas, he later attended school at Georgetown, Oxford, and Yale, where he met his wife, Hillary Rodham. He started his political career in Arkansas state government before becoming president in 1992; one of his big achievements while in office was the signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

    John F Kennedy
Even with an IQ of 159.8, John F. Kennedy had a reputation in childhood of being a poor student, preferring games and sports. He came around, though, and graduated from Harvard in 1940. A Navy man, he won a Purple Heart in World War II for heroic actions in the South Pacific, and after being elected to both the House and Senate, he became the second-youngest president in history and the first and only Catholic president. In his tenure, he dealt with the Cuban Missile Crisis and authorized the Bay of Pigs invasion, in addition to creating the Peace Corps and getting the Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed. He was also the only president to win a Pulitzer Prize. What many people also don’t know is that JFK’s achievements were accompanied by his struggle with chronic health problems, which threatened his life several times.

The 3 mentioned are rated having 3rd 4th &5th highest IQ rankings even Nixion is in the top 25.

Not saying Jimmy Carter was a great president it is the team around the president that make or break a president.

#10 I don't think the UK order Australian PM's around , This government in the UK could not order a Chinese take away

All politicians were a different kettle of fish in the old days, but somethings gone missing of late, plus mobile phones and internet have been invented.

You all missed Regan, with his IQ of 3. Though Austria was a great ally.

The reason I deleted my last post was it was completely off topic.

James, having a high IQ does not mean they are smart, just that they can answer certain questions.
Some of the world smartest were never good students.

I used to know an ex seafarer who told me he applied to join the police force but failed the General I Q. Test .He was no dummy but he blamed with being away at sea he was not up to the mark with the general tripe usually printed in the Daily Press , Shows the police must get all their info. From such. NATO was formed in 1949. If you Google it the reason giving was for the Safety of Europe and the Big Bad Bear is given as Russia . I often wondered why Russia being one of the champions of victory over Germany was never asked to join also , but apparently they are the reason for NATO itself. So 74 years ago it was decided that Russia was to be the Villain . So in 74 years with all the changes in the top people the same feelings prevail .I think both the western world and the other side of the now non existent curtain have been brainwashed to such an extent that they know no better. I think if Russia had backed off, out of those countries they occupied, things might have been different. They still want to rule the world, it's in them, and they can't get it out.
