Tell me why Private schools save £522 million a year on VAT & Tax. School fees at some private schools are just under £10,000 per term.

It costs £40,000 a year to send little Johnny to Eton.

It costs £40,000 a year to go there, but the school has side-stepped millions in rates bills because it is registered as a "charity", while state schools struggle to pay rates. Seriously Eton has charity status.
I understand Eton has 1392 students of which 100 are there on a schoolar ship so this is why they get charatable status.

Mind you when you look at some of the Alumni,recent PM's and Chancellors they are like charity cases.

The green eyed monster raises its head again, Labour Party Cabinet has number of MP's who attended Private Schools. At most of them are slate short of a roof.
Charity shops on the High streets don't pay rates, would they be included under the grand socialist plan?

Whatever Vic, as usual you think you are right. But as you and others have often said we do live in a democracy, so if someone wants to attend a private school that is their right. What has that got to do with Eton and others from paying VAT or taxes. State schools pay full whack so less money to invest in educational services, staff shortages etc!! I wonder how many vacanies there are in Eton , Harrow or Rugby

As to taxes and not paying, you say kt may not be right but if they are doing it within the law then the argument then should be, "is the law correct for such to be allowed"

Latest on the 'Voice' referendum, the gov will not fund either side of the argument nor will it give details of what the referendum will include.
Since 1901 there have been some 47 such referendums of which only 7 have had a positive outcome.

Announced today, the gov is to give another $452 million to the First Nation people in an effort to 'bridge the gap'.
This on top of many millions over the years, yet the situation is very little changed.

The reporter though must have been a bit off as the normal response is that the patient is in a stable condition.
However what he said had many laughing when he reported that,
