    Default TV advertising

I am sure a few of us have watched the Virgin Airways advert on TV?
There is a male member of the cabin crew who minces his way throw the cabin , sparkly makeup all the gear. It would have been even frowned upon I suspect even on a UCL ship as being over the top for being Camp.
Then we have a view of the cock pit. The Female pilot would have a 5 oclock shadow by the time the flight arrived in New York or were ever the flight was heading for.
In todays world of equality, TV advertising is more and more making out that it is the girls that have the tackle.

Any kind of TV adds are the pits as far as I am concerned, no creadability in any of them.

But on UCL in first class way back some of the wingers looked good with their wigs and some make up.
The female bloods loved them and have been known to exchange perfumes etc with them.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Although we had many of the Girls (as we called them) in Catering in my days anyway, with UCL no one was allowed to be or Serve in the Dining Rooms (First or Tourist Class) dressed in any sort of Ladies attire, Wigs included!

There was of course much Frolic after the Meals on Deck and in the Quaters, and many of us Lads enjoyed all the Antics that was put on !

Yes they were very Popular amongst the Bloods , but as said not in the Dining Saloons ! Things i guess changed somewhat a few Years after!

    Cheers

Only saw them on the Windsor, it was the chief officer who allowed some of the most odd behavior from them including the wearing of wigs.
They were not too big but the ladies loved them.

But heaven help the first class winger of that gender who upset on head chef we had.
Alvis was a terror when it came to them and some of the things he did to them was beyond belief
